Going Viral – The Blogalypse 5 – Moustache

And in just one day, you can start a movement of utter nonsense on social media if you try hard enough.

As Queen of the New World Order I have officially designated today as ‘Homeworkers Draw A Moustache On Your Face Day’. This is an international celebration day of the fact that there is a silver lining in every cloud and that people forced to work at home everywhere can cash in on the unexpected benefits of not having to wear usual business attire or present themselves in the usual sensible manner whilst observing social distancing. It is an important lesson in celebrating the small stuff, enjoying the benefits of home working/social distancing and remembering the fun in life.

Instructions

  1. Draw a moustache on your face
  2. Photograph or film it
  3. Upload it to the place where you first became aware of this movement, or to social media in general with the hashtag

#drawamoustacheonyourface

or #moustache2020

When you upload, please tag at least 5 of your friends who are stuck at home trying to work during the current health crisis with an invitation to join our community of homeworkers with fake moustaches drawn on their faces.

Pass it on.

FAQ

Q: What type of moustache should I draw?
A: You can rock any moustache style you darn well like. That’s the beauty of being able to do your daily business with a moustache drawn on your face.

Q: What should I use to draw my moustache on?
A: You can use whatever you like that is safe. Eyeliner, face paints, water colour paints, felt tip pen, food colouring. If you decide to use permanent marker pen we solute your commitment to the movement but you do so in the full understanding that if a cure for Covid-19 is discovered before your fake moustache has worn off that you may have to return to your normal job with a moustache drawn on your face.

Q: I am not working from home. Can I still draw a moustache on my face?
A: Yes. The Homeworkers with Moustaches Drawn on their Face Community welcomes allies.

Q: I already have a real moustache. How can I support the cause?
A: There are a number of ways you can still participate so do not panic. We do not need any more panic in this current crisis. You can extend your existing moustache using the material of your choice in the imaginative manner you always secretly craved you could at work. You could create a fake monobrow or sideburns.

Q: What if I already have an imaginative real moustache, monobrow and sideburns?
A: Just colour in your whole face already! Really, do you need your hand held through everything?

Q: I am wearing a protective face mask during this crisis. But I would still like a fake moustache on my face. How can I join in?
A: You can draw a moustache on the front of your mask, or if you prefer, you can draw a moustache underneath your mask if it is safe for you to do so and then go about your business with the pleasure of knowing you have a secret fake moustache drawn under your face.

Q: I came late to the party and missed the official ‘Homeworkers Draw a Moustache on your Face Day’, can I still draw a moustache on my face?
A: Yes you can. Truth be told, during this crisis, any day could be draw a moustache on your face day and nobody can arrest you for it. Bosses who fire their employees for wearing a moustache in their own home will easily be challenged in a tribunal, so feel reassured you can draw a moustache on your face any day you darn well like.
